Das dachte ich mir auch. Podcasts, die bisher nicht profitabel laufen, einzukaufen und hoffen, dass dafür mehr Leute zahlen, scheint mir ein etwas wackeliges Geschäftsmodell zu sein.

Darum geht es SF sicherlich nicht. Sondern eher darum, Projekten, die alleine auf wackeligen Füßen stehen, zu helfen. Könnte mir vorstellen, dass das Pixelkino pro Folge 500€ bekommt und das bekommen sie natürlich nie im Leben wieder rein.
Das Problem ist dann halt, wenn sich herausstellt, dass diese Formate am unbeliebtesten sind. Denn was in der jährlichen Umfrage am schlechtesten abschneidet, fliegt in der Regel aus dem Programm.

In der SF-Info-Folge wurde übrigens noch gesagt, dass es nur noch die Richtung Film->Spiel gehen wird und dass keine Spiele dran kommen werden, die für normale SF-Folgen in Frage kommen - also sowas wie Doom oder Indy 3 wäre jetzt nicht mehr möglich.

Habe mir den Pixelplausch (den es in Zukunft nicht mehr regelmäßig geben wird) nun spontan noch angehört. Da erzählen sie, dass sie den Podcast in dieser Form ohne die Übernahme wohl nicht weitergeführt hätten. Zu großer Aufwand und zu wenige Einnahmen - daher wohl auch die Reduzierung auf sechs Folgen pro Jahr.

Bei Stay Forever bin ich jetzt auch dabei, bzw. hatte kürzlich mal ein Probeabo und will wieder zurückkehren, wenn ich wieder etwas mehr Zeit habe. Ich habe mir ein paar ältere Podcast und ein paar aus dem freien Feed angehört, u.a. zu Baldur's Gate 2, Indy 4 oder zuletzt Max Payne und Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe. Das hat mir ausgesprochen gut gefallen. Vor einigen Jahren konnte ich noch nicht viel mit Stay Forever anfangen, mit The Pod übrigens immer noch nicht - vielleicht muss ich hier noch mal reinhören - , aber diesmal hat mir Stay Forever sehr gut gefallen.

Ok Cool hat sein Team um zwei weitere freie Mitarbeiter erweitert: Christian Huberts (den ich u.a. bereits von The Pod und WASD kannte) sowie Géraldine Hohmann (Ex-Gamestar). Gerade letztere ist schon ein Knaller. Als die bei The Pod zu Gast war, gab es gleich reihenweise Wünsche, man möge sie doch rekrutieren. Tja, und jetzt hat sie sich der gute Dom geschnappt.
