Mouthwashing sieht aber echt interessant aus. Kannte ich bis dahin auch nicht, ist aber alles andere als ein Geheimtipp: Zwar erst vor kurzem erschienen, hat sich auf steam aber bereits ne Million mal verkauft und steht bei 97%. Das ist ein Vielfaches von Indy und Star Wars Outlaws oder auch mehr als ein Metaphor, von dem ich zuvor schon viel gehört hatte.

Gab es eine Begründung, warum sie nicht dabei waren?
Bei den Spieleveteranen gab es zum Jahresabschluss noch die Best Of im Offtopic-Bereich. Die Runde war dieselbe wie bei den Spielen (weil direkt im Anschluss aufgenommen), aber zu jeder Kategorie (Serien, Bücher, Filme, Musik) gab es immer noch einen Einspieler von Boris. Bei den Spielen sah er sich nicht befähigt zu einer Aussage. Übrigens kam vor ein paar Monaten auf Patreon noch mal die Diskussion um die eigentlich eingestellten regelmäßigen Offtopic-Folgen auf, da einige die doch vermissen. Also wurde ein Umfrage gemacht und das Ergebnis war, dass die Mehrheit solche Folgen gerne wieder hätte, aber nicht monatlich, sondern ca. einmal im Quartal. Die Aussage daraufhin war, dass man voraussichtlich im Frühjahr, wenn eh wenig interessante Spiele erscheinen, mal wieder so etwas einschiebt. Aber als Ersatz für ein anderes Thema, nicht zusätzlich.

Durch die Neuzugänge gibt es generell des öfteren Sonntagspodcasts ohne die beiden. I.d.F. hat man wohl einfach nicht so weit gedacht, dass die Leute das schon auch von ihnen gerne hören möchten. Aufgrund entsprechender Reaktionen werden sie das dann wohl im Januar nachholen.
Mein Spiel des Jahres ist übrigens Songs of Conquest. Sonderlich viele Sachen habe ich eh nicht gespielt und im Vergleich zu Brotato oder Halls of Torment kann ich das wenigstens guten Gewissens nennen. Auch wenn ich mit letzteren schon echt viel Spaß hatte. Gerade Brotato hätte ich noch Dutzende Stunden weiterspielen können, um mit allen 46 Charakteren einen 5er-Run zu schaffen. So habe ich es bei einem belassen und das Spiel schleunigst deinstalliert.

Ich habe bisher nur zwei Sachen aus 2024 gespielt: Squirrel with a Gun war eine nette Überraschung, Space Marine 2 eher eine Enttäuschung. Bei den Spielen aus dem Backlog stach am ehesten Ghostwire Tokyo als Highlight heraus. Aber so einen richtigen Überhit hatte ich dieses Jahr nicht.
Ein paar interessante Titel zum Nachholen sind aber erschienen: Indiana Jones muss ich mir echt irgendwann anschauen und Cryptmaster klingt interessant. Bereits gekauft, aber noch nicht gespielt, habe ich Dungeons of Hinterberg (die Demo war toll) und Tetris Forever. Und jetzt auch noch Pioneers of Pagonia im Early Access. Warte da aber auf die Version 1.0, die im Q1 2025 erscheinen und eine echte Kampagne liefern soll. Weitere Wartespiele bei mir sind Doom: The Dark Ages und die PC-Version von Spider-Man 2. Und was auch immer Nintendo uns als neue Konsole bzw. deren Starttitel präsentieren wird.
